Hundreds of Israelis protest to stop the war and the police disperse them

Khaberni  - Israeli police dispersed a demonstration involving hundreds of Israelis, on Saturday, in a central square in the heart of Tel Aviv, expressing their rejection of the war waged by Israel and the United States against Iran.

The demonstration occurred despite restrictions on gatherings, and participants raised banners calling to stop the bombing and end what they described as "the never-ending war," and chanted against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Alon Lee Green, an official from the group "Stand Together," asserted that the police are attempting to silence the voices of the protestors, emphasizing that their demands include ending wars in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza.

A reporter from Agence France-Presse reported that the Israeli police later detained a number of protesters who participated in the protest.

The protesters expressed doubts about the government's motives, with participants in the gathering believing that the main reason for continuing the war is Netanyahu's desire to halt his trial in a corruption case, pointing out that the justifications for the war continuously change without clear criteria for success or failure.

Netanyahu vows to continue escalation

In contrast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged in a recorded statement on Saturday evening to continue the military campaign, announcing targeting petrochemical factories and steel production facilities in Iran, considering them the "money machine" for financing what he described as terrorism.

These developments come amid pressure from US President Donald Trump on the Israeli president to issue a pardon for Netanyahu in the corruption cases he faces.

On the ground, the Israeli military announced that it had detected 8 missile strikes launched from Iran since midnight, in addition to a missile launched from Yemen on Saturday evening, which injured at least 5 people according to paramedics, and the demonstrators began to leave the square following an alert about the Yemeni missile.

It should be noted that the exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran comes in the context of the joint American-Israeli war on Iran that began on February 28th.
