Memorandum of Understanding between Amman Industry and the JordanianAmerican Business Council

The Amman Chamber of Industry, on Tuesday, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian-American Business Council to enhance trade relations and strengthen ties between the business communities in Jordan and the United States, achieving mutual benefits and interests for both parties. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the chamber by board member Ahed Al Rajabi, and on behalf of the business council by Dr. Rawan Al Hayari, the director and regional advisor, in the presence of the chamber’s board secretary, engineer Majdi Al Hishlamoun.

Al Rajabi confirmed that the memorandum of understanding stems from a definite desire and keenness on joint cooperation between the chamber and the Jordanian-American Business Council, aimed at achieving the desired goals towards strengthening, developing, and diversifying economic industrial, trade, and joint investments relations between businessmen in both countries, especially since the United States is considered one of the main markets for Jordanian industrial exports.

Al Rajabi added that the chamber seeks to attract foreign investments to Jordan, particularly American investments. The memorandum aims to exchange visits of trade delegations, hold bilateral business meetings in both Jordan and the United States, exchange commercial information and economic studies and market analyses, in addition to organizing economic forums, trade exhibitions, and workshops.

Dr. Rawan Al Hayari pointed out that the Jordanian-American Business Council, a non-profit organization registered in the United States and headquartered in Michigan,  noted that based on the memorandum of understanding, digital platforms will be developed to enhance trade and investment opportunities. The council will also serve as a main contact with chambers of commerce, trade councils, and investors in the United States, supporting Jordanian companies looking to expand in the American market, and designing joint training programs and consultancies for members of the Amman Chamber of Industry, contributing to enhancing the presence of Jordanian products in the American market.

The parties agreed to cooperate continuously to communicate and connect in the field of developing economic industrial and commercial relations, and exchange information on newly introduced legislations, laws, regulations, instructions, and procedures in both countries.

It is noted that Jordanian exports to the United States  reached 3 billion dollars in 2024, while Jordanian imports from the United States exceeded two billion dollars during the year 2024.
