Irbid Municipality starts procedures to import 2000 new waste containers

Khaberni - The Irbid Greater Municipality has started implementing purchasing procedures for 2000 metal waste containers with a capacity of 1100 liters, as part of a plan aimed at improving the reality of waste management and keeping up with urban expansion.

The municipality announced that it has signed the supply agreement with the contracted company, with delivery of the containers to take place within a period not exceeding sixty days, in line with the city’s current needs and its operational plans in the public cleanliness sector.

The Director of Tenders at Irbid Greater Municipality, Inas Haddad, stated that the new containers were approved according to technical specifications that match international standards, noting that they were purchased at a moderate price considering the municipality's financial capabilities.

She added that the need for these containers has become urgent due to the continuous expansion in residential areas, explaining that the distribution process will include the areas most in need, alongside replacing damaged containers, according to programs prepared by the General Public Cleanliness Department.

Haddad emphasized the importance of maintaining the new containers and not tampering with them or exposing them to damage, to ensure the sustainability of cleaning services and achieving the best possible level of service for citizens.
