Khaberni - The Cabinet decided in its session held today, Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, to approve a decision by the board of commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, which includes granting a set of incentives on rent allowances due to tenants in the old free zone.
The decision completes a series of decisions taken by the Cabinet to support investment and economic activities in Aqaba.
The decision included an exemption of 100% of the rent for contracts signed before the date of 1/1/2010, some of which date back to the period when the Free Zones Corporation was managing before the establishment of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, and an exemption of 75% of the rent for contracts signed after 1/1/2010, and an exemption of 100% of the rent and repair expenses for warehouses that were damaged.
These incentives will be applied to tenants who vacate the leased property and hand it over during the period from the date of the Cabinet's decision on this matter until the date of 12/31/2026, and according to the controls and procedures determined by the authority.
