The Syrian Internal Security, has arrested a cell affiliated with the ISIS terrorist gang in the Darayya area of the countryside of the Syrian capital Damascus, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
(SANA) quoted the Internal Security Commander in the Damascus Countryside, Brigadier General Ahmad Dalati, as stating that a terrorist cell affiliated with the "ISIS" organization was dismantled, and its members were arrested during a precise security operation in the Darayya area of the Damascus Countryside.
Dalati declared: Specialized units within the Internal Security, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Agency, conducted a precise security operation in the Darayya area, targeting a den of the ISIS terrorist gang, following investigations and precise intelligence information and continuous monitoring of the movements of its elements over the past few weeks.
He added that the operation resulted in the complete dismantling of the terrorist cell, the arrest of its leader, in addition to 6 of its members, and the seizure of various weapons and ammunition in their possession, prepared for use in their terrorist activities.
He explained that the operation was conducted with the highest levels of planning and precision, with full compliance with precautionary measures to ensure civilian safety. The operation reflects the level of coordination between the security and intelligence units, and their ability to dismantle terrorist cells. This operation is part of a continuous strategy to dry up sources of terrorism, prevent any threats to community security, and achieve peace and stability within it.
The leadership of the Internal Security in Idlib Governorate had, on December 16, in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Administration of the General Intelligence Agency, and during a precise security operation, managed to arrest a terrorist cell affiliated with the ISIS gang responsible for executing a number of terrorist operations targeting security and military patrols in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo.
