Khaberni - Bakr Al-Balawneh, the Assistant Secretary-General for Agricultural Guidance at the Ministry of Agriculture, said on Wednesday that the amounts of rainfall recorded from the start of the current season to date are promising, compared to last season's figures.
He added that rainfall figures are the responsibility of the Meteorological Department, but the ministry relies on them for providing agricultural guidance, such as advising on the timing of certain plantings. He noted that when rainfall is good, the ministry advises planting rainfed cereals; as each figure has a specific implication that reflects on agricultural decisions, according to the kingdom.
