Khaberni - Umniah, one of the Beyon companies, Beyon, announced its victory in the “Women Employment Award” within the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards, organized by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), at the ceremony held on Sunday 14 December 2025 at the Sheraton Hotel in Amman.
The award was received on behalf of Umniah by Diana Sa'edi, Executive Director of Human Resources and Regulatory Affairs, in recognition of the company's efforts in enhancing women's economic participation, particularly through its strategic initiative of launching the “Ma'an Contact Center”, which represented a qualitative step towards expanding job opportunities for women in provinces facing employment challenges. The center is distinguished by a work environment that prioritizes local female talent, with females comprising 81% of its workforce.
In commenting on this award, Faisal Al-Jalahma, CEO of Umniah, stated that this recognition reflects the firm’s belief that empowering women is not just a corporate commitment, but an intrinsic part of their work culture and approach to building strong, diverse teams. He affirmed that investing in women, especially in less favored provinces, contributes to creating a sustainable economic and social impact and enhances the local talents’ readiness for active participation in the labor market.
Al-Jalahma added that launching the Ma'an Contact Center was a practical model for translating this conviction into reality, by providing quality job opportunities for women and building long-term career paths based on development, empowerment, and equal opportunities.
Umniah is one of the companies that have signed the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) since March 2021, committing annually to submit progress reports in this field through the approved Women's Empowerment Principles monitoring tool, according to evaluation standards based on tangible evidence and data reflecting the impact of policies and initiatives on the ground.
In her comments on this achievement, Diana Sa'edi, Executive Director of Human Resources and Regulatory Affairs at Umniah, stated: "Umniah’s efforts are not limited to employing women, but extend to building a supportive and inclusive work environment, through employment policies based on equal opportunities in hiring, training, and professional development, alongside implementing flexible work arrangements, mental health support programs, and adopting clear and strict policies against harassment, ensuring a safe and motivating work environment for all.”
The event saw wide attendance from representatives of the business sector and institutions committed to applying the Women's Empowerment Principles in Jordan, where the prominent practices and success stories in promoting gender equality in the private sector were showcased.
