Historic Visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Jordan

Khaberni - Khaberni - The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, starts tomorrow Monday, an official visit to Jordan, at the invitation of King Abdullah II, aiming to consolidate the historical friendly relations between the two countries, and to build on them towards broader and more advanced prospects.

The Indian Ambassador in Amman, in statements to the Asian Indian News Agency (ANI), said that this upcoming visit is "historic" in terms of its size and bilateral, regional, and international impact, confirming that it will contribute to enhancing the strategic partnership between India and Jordan, and expanding cooperation in politics, economy, technology, and energy.

The Ambassador indicated that during the visit, Prime Minister Modi will meet King Abdullah II and a number of Jordanian officials, to discuss ways to develop bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international developments.

This visit is the first of its kind by an Indian Prime Minister in years, and it indicates New Delhi's desire to enhance its presence and role in the region, through sustainable and multidimensional partnerships.
