The Grand Egyptian Museum Submerged in Rainwater What is the Truth about the Viral Videos

Khaberni - Accounts on the "X" platform circulated videos showing rainwater flooding the courtyard of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which was opened last month, amid claims that they are recent with the Egyptian capital experiencing rainfall.

Different accounts posted the video with a comment claiming "the Grand Egyptian Museum is flooded after rainwater leaked inside, the museum was inaugurated a few months ago".

Despite the circulation of the video, none of the museum visitors confirmed the exposure to rainfall or flooding, and research showed that these videos had been circulated about two and a half years before the museum's inauguration, and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities commented on the incident at the time.

These videos sparked interactions, and one of the commentators said: "Why the rumors? This clip is from two years ago, and the museum is designed and studied for rainwater drainage due to its architectural and engineering design of the open lobby of the museum with an infrastructure for rainwater drainage."
