Khaberni - The House of Representatives votes on Thursday on the general budget bill for the fiscal year 2026, article by article, according to the constitution.
After approving the bill, the finance committee in the Senate will begin discussing "2026 Budget", to elevate its recommendations to the Senate for approval, and then to adorn it with the royal decree and publish it in the Official Gazette.
The House of Representatives began, on Monday, discussing "the General Budget" during a morning session chaired by the Speaker of the House Mazen Al-Qadi, attended by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and members of the government team, listening to the report of the parliamentary finance committee concerning the general budget bill for the fiscal year 2026, presented by the committee member, deputy Mohamed Al-Bustanji.
The parliamentary finance committee had approved, on December 7, 2025, the general budget bill for the fiscal year 2026, after 104 meetings held over 13 days.
The House of Representatives referred on November 11, 2025, the general budget bill for fiscal year 2026 to its finance committee, which in turn discussed it with ministries, units, and government institutions.
It is noted that the Cabinet approved, on November 5, 2025, during a session chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, the budget bill, paving the way for its constitutional procedures.
