Khaberni - The House of Representatives votes on Thursday on the public budget bill for the fiscal year 2026, section by section, according to the constitution.
After the bill is approved, the financial committee in the Senate will begin discussing the "2026 budget", to elevate its recommendations to the Senate for approval, and then to be adorned with the royal will and published in the Official Gazette.
The House of Representatives had commenced, on Monday, discussing the "general budget", during a morning session chaired by the Speaker of the House Mazen Al-Qadi, attended by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and members of the government team, listening to the report of the parliamentary financial committee regarding the public budget bill for the fiscal year 2026, delivered by the committee appointee, deputy Mohammed Al-Bustanji.
The parliamentary financial committee had approved, on December 7, 2025, the public budget bill for the fiscal year 2026, after 104 meetings held over 13 days.
The House of Representatives had referred, on November 11, 2025, the public budget bill for the fiscal year 2026 to its financial committee, which in turn discussed it with ministries, units, and government institutions.
It is noted that the Council of Ministers approved, on November 5, 2025, during a session held by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, the budget bill, in preparation for the constitutional procedures,
