Khaberni - The director of the 25th National Olive Festival and Rural Products Exhibition, Abdullah Al-Qudah, said that the 25th edition of the festival has established Jordan’s position as a leading Arab destination in the olive sector and rural products, and has demonstrated the sustainability of this sector despite the climate challenges and the production scarcity this year.
Al-Qudah added that the festival, which was held under royal patronage and inaugurated by a representative of His Majesty the King, Minister of Agriculture, achieved an unprecedented turnout, with the number of visitors reaching 451,000, an increase of more than 25 percent compared to last year which recorded 361,000 visitors, and a noticeable rise from the year 2023 when the number of visitors was 218,000.
He pointed out that the "National Olive Festival" has now become one of the largest festivals in the region in terms of area, number of participants, and visitors, as the event extended over an area of approximately 11,000 square meters at the Mecca Mall exhibition grounds, with the participation of more than 1,100 farmers and rural families and various cooperative, charitable, and agricultural associations.
Al-Qudah explained that this year, the festival management had to call in 100 participants from the reserve list after the products of several participants sold out during the early days, reflecting the increasing demand and high public confidence in the quality of Jordanian rural products.
