The occupation arrests 100 Palestinians in the West Bank including leaders and freed prisoners

Khaberni - The Israeli occupation forces launched, on Wednesday dawn, a wide arrest campaign in the occupied West Bank, encompassing more than 100 Palestinians, including political leaders and freed prisoners, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.

The campaign covered the cities of Nablus, Salfit, Jenin, Tulkarem, Qalqilya, and Jericho, as well as the towns of Al-Eizariya and Abu Dis east of occupied Jerusalem.

Local media reported that the occupation forces arrested dozens of citizens after carrying out intensive raids and house searches, and conducted field investigations in rainy and cold weather.

In Nablus, northern occupied West Bank, the occupation forces stormed the city and arrested about 50 Palestinians, including the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Nasser al-Din al-Shaer, who was detained and interrogated in the field before being released later.

In Salfit, northwestern West Bank, the occupation forces stormed the city, detained dozens of young men, and severely beat them during field investigations around their homes, according to the Palestinian news agency.

The Israeli forces carried out search operations and tampered with the content of homes amid a wide military deployment in the inner neighborhoods.

Arrest of the freed prisoner Al-Ardah

In Jenin, the occupation forces arrested freed prisoner Mohammad Al-Ardah from the town of Arraba after storming his house at dawn.

Mohammad Al-Ardah was one of the prisoners who executed the escape from Gilboa Prison in 2021 through a tunnel they dug using a small spoon.

The occupation vehicles patrolled several towns in the Jenin governorate as part of raids that expanded over the past weeks.

The occupation forces also arrested a freed prisoner after raiding his house in the "Artah" suburb south of Tulkarem.

In Qalqilya, the occupation forces stormed the city from its southern entrance, spread in the neighborhoods of Shreim and Al-Dawood, and arrested two young men in their thirties after searching their homes and tampering with their contents.

The forces also carried out raids in the towns of Habla, Kafr Thulth, Azzun, and Amatin without registering any arrests.

In Jericho, local sources reported that the occupation forces carried out an arrest campaign at dawn on Wednesday, affecting 13 Palestinians in the city and its camps, involving field interrogation of several detainees. Some of the detainees were later released after being interrogated in the field.

Arrest of fathers and their sons

In Hebron, southwestern West Bank, the occupation forces arrested 7 citizens from the town of Beit Ummar, including fathers and their sons, after storming their homes and transferring them to a camp inside the "Karmi Tzur" settlement.

The forces detonated the main door of one of the citizens' homes, searched several other houses, and confiscated quantities of gold jewelry.

The occupation forces also raided homes in the town of Yatta and assaulted the homeowners with beatings.

The forces closed several main roads and set up military barriers at the entrances to the governorate.

In Bethlehem, the occupation forces arrested a young man after storming his house in the town of Tuqu' southeast of the city and searching it.

In Jerusalem, the occupation forces conducted a wide campaign involving about 20 citizens in the towns of Abu Dis and Al-Eizariya east of the occupied city. The detainees were subjected to field interrogation, mistreatment, and physical assault before some of them were later released.

This wide military campaign comes amid a wide escalation in the operations of the Israeli army in the West Bank over the recent weeks, including nighttime raids, mass arrests, and confrontations in various areas.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army and settlers have intensified their operations in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, resulting in the martyrdom of 1093 Palestinians and the injury of 9034, in addition to the arrest of about 20,000. During that period, the occupation bulldozers carried out about 3187 demolition operations leading to the displacement of more than 8000 Palestinians, according to Palestinian statistics.
