Khaberni - A horrific traffic incident shocked the corridors of the judicial bodies in Egypt after four judicial advisors were killed yesterday (Sunday) following the collision of their private car with a truck on the Eastern Desert Road in Malawi Center south of Minya Governorate, leading to the car catching fire and the bodies being completely charred.

The tragic road accident also resulted in serious injuries to two others who were with them, in an incident described as “tragic” which turned a return trip from a work mission into a devastating end.

According to Egyptian media, the judicial advisors who lost their lives are: Advisor Mohamed El-Bakry, Advisor Mostafa Ossayed, Advisor Islam Al-Kashif, and Advisor Mohamed Abd el-Nasser, who were working in the First Civil Division at Deirout Court, and were riding their private car on their daily route from their workplace.

The operations room of Minya’s Ministry of Interior Assistance received a report of the incident and promptly, security forces and rescue teams moved to the location. It was revealed that the violent collision between the two cars led to the deviation and immediate ignition of the private car, which took hours to extinguish the fire and retrieve the charred bodies.

The bodies were transferred to the morgue of Malawi General Hospital, while the two injured were taken to Minya University Hospital for treatment. An official report was filed regarding the incident with the two vehicles being seized, and the Public Prosecution took over the investigation to determine the causes of the accident, focusing on speeding and non-compliance with lanes.

This incident is part of a series of deadly road accidents on the Eastern Desert Road (Cairo-Aswan), which is considered one of the most dangerous roads in Upper Egypt, with the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics recording over 1200 accidents in the past five years, resulting in about 800 deaths, most of which were due to collisions with heavy trucks.
