Khaberni- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi considered on Friday that the strike on a school in southern Iran on the first day of the war with the United States and Israel was a "deliberate attack" by Washington.
Araghchi condemned in a video address to the UN Human Rights Council the "deliberate and staged attack" on an elementary school in the city of Minab, "where more than 175 students and teachers were killed in cold blood".
He added, "The contradictory statements by the United States, aimed at justifying their crime, cannot in any way absolve them of their responsibility," describing the attack as a "war crime and a crime against humanity".
The war in Iran erupted on February 28, following extensive airstrikes by the United States and Israel targeting vital and military installations and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, resulting in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with a number of top officials and leaders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders in the Revolutionary Guard.
In response, Iran retaliated with an operation by launching hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel and countries in the region, along with closing the Strait of Hormuz, causing a rise in energy prices.
The war extended to Lebanon on March 2, after Hezbollah fired missiles at Israel following the assassination of Ali Khamenei, to which Israel responded with extensive airstrikes and a ground incursion into southern Lebanon.
