Khaberni - This topic is neither exciting nor alluring, and it will mean nothing to those citizens eager to "cancel water and electricity bills". They are unconcerned with issues like public parks or infrastructure, rather, it is the demands for "increased services".. and other slogans that pique their interest and greed. As for the technical issues handled by the municipal council, these will not stir them at all, which are reasons for the disinterest in the "municipal elections 2026".

The slogans of the candidates seem to reflect this disheartening reality, mostly devoid of any substance, just rhetorical phrases. Here are some examples: "Together for development and reform, and my success is only with Allah, Your voice is a trust, We work for a more beautiful Zarqa, The choice is yours and the commitment is ours, Zarqa is clean", besides a candidate's slogan talking about "competence, experience, and dedication".. And the most popular slogan used by most candidates is "the candidate for everyone"?

What is intriguing about the last slogan is that "the candidate for everyone" had just posted on Facebook pages and other social media, thanking "my clan members" for their endorsement in a primary election, without consulting "everyone" he speaks on behalf of.. perhaps this led another candidate to modify their slogan to: "For everyone honestly".. does it mean the others are not honest? Meanwhile, some candidates have chosen "demagogic" slogans.. they do not appeal to their minds but seek to win them over "with an open heart and an extended hand".. but where is this hand really stretching? Perhaps our experiences with the municipal council make us clutch our hearts!
Some try to rally "the constituents of the district" using an alarmist approach and with a bit of verbal escalation "Stop them, they are accountable".. and the advertisement, flooding all areas of the districts, does not clarify who is meant or required to be stopped! And there's no harm in a little submission for the country's benefit.. "I plead with the children of my district".. and of course, the owner of the slogan is "the candidate for everyone".. always!
Perhaps the slogans reveal and expose at once, the weak caliber of the candidates, many of whom have no experience in municipal matters and engineering issues like zoning and building regulations, and they truly do not understand the competencies of the municipal council, with only a few of them being specialists, apart from a few engineers, and about half of the candidates came either as a result of tribal primary elections or familial apportionment, therefore they really have nothing to say other than rhetorical slogans, knowing that their path to the seat is either through the clan or through money.

The candidates know, and for most of them, the municipal council is their first step towards the House of Representatives, that the municipal council is purely a technical agency, which does not bear the exaggerated political slogans employed by members of the House of Representatives to woo voters, despite the fact that the interests of the municipal council are closer to the citizens who do not appreciate the importance of the municipal council and its competencies that target their daily lives, in public facilities and streets, and in their homes and residential areas, and everything close to their lives.. and even their death.

When one of the candidates was asked while preparing to register his name as a candidate if he knows the municipality law, he answered with all modesty: I haven't read it yet? And some candidates do not understand the difference between laws and regulations, and they transformed the building regulations into a law!
It seems that the slogans of the new "municipal" youth need a long caravan of resounding slogans that enter the hearts before the minds.
