Khaberni - The municipality of Um Al-Qateen and Al-Makayfeh, located in Mafraq Governorate, started a few days ago the expansion works of road sides for the isolated area under the municipality. The works included paving with basalt stones, topped with a layer of sand and then a concrete pour in an engineered manner with a width of one and a half meters, aimed at reducing accidents. The municipality will expand the road by a distance of 1200 meters (1 kilometer and 200 meters), following long years nearing ten years and more of demands from the locals for the road expansion, which caused dozens of accidents due to its narrowness.
The head of the municipal committee, Talib Al-Hammad, said that these works are carried out by the municipality's staff after continuous demands from the citizens to repair this road, as it was the cause of dozens of accidents. He confirmed that the municipality is working with the available resources to provide the largest and best possible service for the citizens, and that the project is implemented by the municipality's staff entirely 100%.
According to the municipality, the repair works for the roadside will continue during the coming period. The municipality began a few days ago and will continue to complete the entire road, having executed the paving and concrete pour today for approximately 120 meters. The road serves the residents of the isolated area and visitors to the region, as well as those fetching water tanks due to the presence of a factory and a water well.
All the staff of the municipality are working hand in hand to implement the expansion works, and the project operations are carried out by the municipality's staff entirely 100%.
