Khaberni - The King Abdullah II Fund for Development launched the third cycle of the "Empowerment" project to support political projects, continuing its role as a national institution supporting national efforts towards encouraging active political participation, aligned with the state's political modernization path in parallel with administrative and economic modernization paths. This launch of the cycle complements the project's role in supporting quality initiatives that enhance awareness and political participation, with a focus on the local community.
The "Empowerment" project aims to support projects and initiatives that contribute to enhancing the concepts and outcomes of political modernization, and expanding the base of community political participation, especially among youth and women, in addition to building the capacities of parties to create an environment conducive to program-based political action.
The project also strives to empower youth leaders and provide them with the necessary tools for active participation, alongside supporting initiatives that enhance youth participation in local management boards, including municipalities and decentralization.
The proposed projects fall under four main pillars: establishing and supporting an environment conducive to creating and empowering youth leadership, enhancing and improving community and youth political participation in general, contributing to supporting program-based party participation, and enhancing and increasing women's participation and representation in political life.
The project targets civil society organizations and non-profit companies working in political awareness, provided they are non-governmental Jordanian institutions registered with the competent authorities, and that the nature of the project aligns with the organization's goals, and that the idea is not funded by any other entity when submitting the application, and does not serve or promote any political party, with the project duration not exceeding six months.
The project is implemented in stages starting with the reception of applications, followed by evaluation by a specialized technical committee, then selecting projects qualified for the interview stage, leading to the announcement of projects receiving support, and ending with evaluation and monitoring processes to ensure achieving the desired goals.
The "Empowerment" project provides direct financial support to qualified institutions to implement their proposed initiatives and projects within the defined pillars, enabling them to transform their ideas into practical programs on the ground, in line with the goals of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development in supporting political participation and enhancing national development. This support aims to enhance the institutions' ability to implement quality activities with tangible impacts in the field of political awareness and participation, thereby contributing to achieving the project's objectives and enhancing the institutional sustainability of the initiatives implemented.
It is noted that the project supervised the financing of 29 institutions during the years 2024 and 2025, focusing on promoting community political awareness and stimulating the party and political work environment for various community segments, reflecting the project's impact in supporting the path of political modernization and enhancing the culture of active participation in the Kingdom. These projects achieved tangible accomplishments on the ground and contributed to integrating youth and women at the core of political work by empowering them with the necessary knowledge and tools and enhancing their presence in various paths of political participation, thus enhancing their actual benefits and their conscious engagement in public life.
