Khaberni - A fire that erupted in the Khawajat Market in Egypt led to the death of 5 people and the injury of 13 others, with authorities taking urgent measures to control the flames.
The fire at the "Khawajat" market in Mansoura city, northern Egypt, which occurred on Tuesday, caused significant damage inside a four-story clothing store, and the flames spread quickly due to the presence of flammable materials. The governor of Dakahlia pointed out that urgent measures were taken to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings, including disconnecting electricity and gas services as a precautionary measure to avoid further damage.
The governor also confirmed that relevant authorities were assigned to impose a security cordon around the area to accelerate the extinguishing process, while authorities began extensive investigations to determine the causes of the fire.
The residents of Dakahlia governorate mourned the victims of the horrifying fire that consumed the four-story clothing mall, resulting in the death of 5 people and injuring 13 others. The bodies were removed from the morgue of Mansoura International Hospital after a legal examination and transported to the victims' hometowns for burial.
The bodies of Ali Mohamed Mustafa Al-Tantawi, 43 years old, and his son Majed Ali Mohamed Mustafa, a high school junior, from Shubra Badin belonging to Mansoura center, were mourned among the mother's hysterical crying, screaming: "Take me to them, I want to go to them," and she fainted, while the father's sister collapsed and cried, chanting: "They are my heart and loves, give us patience, oh Lord".
The funeral procession also included the bodies of Rafat Maher Mohamed Sayyam, 27 years old, the son of the mall owner, from the village of Mit Badr Khamees, and Mohamed Ahmed El-Sayed Nakhlah, 37 years old, and Adham Mustafa Al-Banna, 30 years old, from Mansoura city, amidst the collapse of their families and relatives.
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, followed the developments of the Khawajat Market fire on Port Said street in Mansoura, to assess the extent of repercussions and to update on the situation of the injured and the families of the victims. The Prime Minister mourned the victims, offering his deepest condolences to their families, and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
Madbouly directed the ministries and relevant authorities to quickly provide support and assistance to the families of the victims, and to provide the necessary medical care for the injured, as well as to expedite the removal of the aftermath of the fire to ensure the return of normal activity in the area. He also emphasized the importance of following safety procedures and civil defense measures in all facilities to preserve lives and properties.
