Khaberni - Former US President Barack Obama said that he sees no evidence that aliens "have made contact with us", after starting a buzz on social media by claiming "aliens are real in an internet podcast over the weekend".
During a round of quickfire questions with broadcaster Brian Tyler Cohen, Obama was asked if "aliens are real?", to which he replied: "They are real, but I haven’t seen them. They are not held in Area 51."
Yesterday Sunday, the former President released a statement on Instagram, apparently clarifying what he meant by his statements that have since spread.
Obama added: "I was trying to keep up with the spirit of speed, but since it got attention, let me clarify, statistically, the universe is so vast which suggests that there are possibilities of life in the universe, but the distances between solar systems are so vast that the chances of aliens visiting us are very low."
Obama ended his statement by saying: "I saw no evidence during my presidency that aliens have made contact with us, truly."
