Khaberni - A large delegation headed to the Btayneh clan's camp in Irbid including sheikhs and dignitaries from the province and the Za'bi clan, chaired by MP Salah al-Zoubi who met at Sheikh Saad Al-Ali Al-Btayneh's court in the Al-Barha area of Irbid governorate. The main request of the delegation was for a confession atonement by the Btayneh clan following an incident caused by a young man from the Hamouri clan. The event led to the death of the late Mahmoud Fayez Mahmoud Saad Al-Ali Al-Btayneh in a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia. In accordance with traditions, the Hamouri tribe sought mediation with another tribe, the Za'bi, and the Btayneh clan accepted this intervention.
The delegation was received by dignitaries of the Btayneh clan, led by former minister His Excellency Nidal Btayneh who spoke on behalf of the clan. He agreed to grant the confession atonement and additionally to pair it with a reconciliation, considering, on behalf of his clan, that the accident was divine decree, and no one can oppose God's judgment. Minister Btayneh welcomed the delegation at the house of Sheikh Saad Al-Ali Al-Btayneh, a chief of the Bani Jumah tribe which includes 14 villages including "Beit Ras", the birthplace of the person responsible for the death, indicating that the loss was mutual. He added that everyone present knows that this house had resolved even more complex issues in the past and that the descendants of the Btayneh tribe continue the path of their ancestors, as per the customs of all Jordanian tribes, as mentioned by Btayneh.
Btayneh, on behalf of his clan and the blood kin, renounced all tribal and legal rights, out of respect for God, the Prophet, then the King, the honorable delegation, the Za'bi and Hamouri tribes, as well as to honor the spirit of the late Mohammad Khalil Hamouri who had contributed significantly to his country and governorate in knowledge and ethics. Minister Btayneh announced to the delegation: "Had the person responsible for the death been in Jordan, the Btayneh clan would not have accepted his imprisonment even for an hour, because what happened was divine decree and there is no objection to God's judgment" but since the accident occurred on Saudi soil, the blood kin will immediately document their waiver and non-objection to releasing the person from the Hamouri tribe, for submission to Saudi authorities.
In conclusion, Btayneh requested the owner of the transport company where both the responsible party and the deceased worked, to reinstate the responsible party to his job and to take care of his treatment, stating that he and his clan are fully prepared to contribute and assist in this manner.
Representative Salah al-Zoubi thanked the Btayneh clan for their noble character, adding that this was not strange for a house from which emerged the martyr Najib Saad Al-Ali Al-Btayneh, nicknamed the Sigh of Huran, the first Jordanian martyr in North Africa, who died fighting alongside the mujahid Omar Mukhtar against colonialism in Libya.
