Khaberni - On Monday, the Israeli occupation forces re-invaded broad areas in the city of Tubas and the town of Aqqaba in the northern West Bank, and imposed a comprehensive curfew until further notice.
This raid comes less than 24 hours after its withdrawal from the province following a military operation that lasted 4 days, leaving widespread destruction in public and private properties, in addition to dozens of injuries and arrests.
The occupation deployed additional military reinforcements to the city of Tubas, while the forces closed the main streets and secondary roads with earth barriers.
The forces spread throughout the city and the town of Aqqaba, raided several houses, and turned them into military barracks after expelling the residents, especially in the El-Hadika neighborhood and other areas within Tubas.
The military bulldozers began closing the main roads and cutting off the parts of the province, including the Deir Street connecting Ainun, Tubas, and Tamoun, and tightened movement restrictions around the province, while the occupation forces prevented the Red Crescent from moving to aid the injured due to the closures.
The Tubas governorate announced the suspension of school sessions and the suspension of work in all institutions until the end of the raid, while the governor confirmed that the occupation repositioned in the center of the province and completely closed the city.
The occupation forces had withdrawn on Saturday evening after 4 days of widespread aggression on the city and surrounding areas, resulting in 130 injuries handled by the ambulance and emergency teams, 66 of whom were transported to hospitals, while others received their treatment in the field despite difficult conditions.
During the operation, the occupation forces arrested 162 Palestinians from the province, most of whom were released after field investigations accompanied by assault and abuse, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club.
The local authorities confirmed that the Israeli military operation significantly impacted life in Tubas, and held the occupation government responsible for what happens against the Palestinian people.
