Khaberni - A family of four, including two children, experienced a terrifying situation after an aerial restaurant malfunctioned at about 150 feet above ground near the Anatachal area in the Indian state of Kerala.
Local reports indicate that the family was stuck from 1:30 PM until firefighting and rescue teams arrived at around 4 PM.
According to officials, the restaurant management did not notify the authorities, but instead, local residents alerted the rescue teams and police.
Viral videos showed the rescue teams climbing ropes to reach the suspended platform, where the mother and her two children were lowered first, followed by the father and a restaurant employee, with everyone safely descending by 4:30 PM after a safety net was placed under the platform.
A fire department official explained that the incident was due to a malfunction in the hydraulic system of the crane.
The "Sky-Dining" experience is part of the adventure tourism program in the mountainous region of the city, aiming to attract visitors with unique dining experiences at great heights.
