A horrific crime in Monufia governorate in Egypt
The Egyptian governorate of Monufia witnessed one of the most heinous human crimes where a family was stripped of any merciful feelings, resulting in the death of a three-year-old girl due to brutal torture.
Subsequent investigations revealed a series of shocking violations that the victim was subjected to by those closest to her.
The details of the crime began to unfold in the village of "Mit Shahala" in the Martyrs' center, when the girl's grandfather "Sama" attempted to bury her body secretly without an official burial permit, claiming there were no registration papers for the girl. However, the alertness of "al-Turabi," who was responsible for the cemetery, thwarted the plan after he became suspicious and refused the burial, promptly informing the detectives who immediately went to the site.
Upon examination of the young girl's body, signs of horrific torture were found, including skinning burns and scattered bruises all over her body. The security forces immediately arrested the grandfather and the stepmother, and during the investigations, the stepmother confessed that she consistently poured boiling water on the child's body and beat her severely under the pretext of "involuntary urination," stating that she repeated her actions on the day of her death until the young girl passed away. She then conspired with the grandfather to cover up the crime and bury her secretly.
These confessions were just the outer layer of a deeper tragedy. A medical examination revealed a shocking surprise that proved the child had been repeatedly sexually assaulted, which was the real reason behind her health condition and her inability to control herself. When confronted, the grandfather broke down and confessed to sexually assaulting his granddaughter along with her father.
The detective unit successfully arrested the fleeing father, who admitted to committing the same heinous crime against his daughter. He clarified that he had been informally married to her mother for a short period in Cairo, and after the victim was born, the mother left the child with him in Monufia and left. On its part, the public prosecution decided to detain the three suspects (the father, the grandfather, and the stepmother) pending investigations and appointed forensic medicine to autopsy the body, while the villagers mourned the girl's funeral amid an atmosphere of immense sadness and anger.
