Khaberni - The Minister of Water and Irrigation, Engineer Raed Abu Al-Saud, confirmed that the ministry is racing against time to ensure the commencement of the implementation of the national carrier project on the ground and on schedule.

This occurred during Abu Al-Saud’s inspection on Thursday of the intake of the new national carrier project, where he was accompanied by the national carrier project manager, Engineer Saddam Khleifat, and the official responsible for financing the readiness of infrastructure network projects, Eyad Al-Qasir.

The national carrier project aims to reduce the cost of the project, as part of the government's efforts to speed up the implementation of one of the most vital national strategic projects, and in accordance with the economic modernization plan, to provide and desalinate 300 million cubic meters of seawater annually from the Gulf of Aqaba.

During the visit, Abu Al-Saud supervised the inspection (NDT) of the proposed desalination station intake and discussed the results with the executing company "the station contractor". The visit also included discussions of arrangements with the Aqaba thermal station and coordination with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone concerning pending issues, and accelerating the pace of work with all related parties.
