Khaberni - A lawyer has filed a report to the public prosecutor against Sama El-Masry on charges of imitating men and disrespecting the Sa'idi attire after a provocative video on social media.
Ziad Abdel Samad, the lawyer, accused the artist Sama El-Masry of imitating men and disrespecting the Sa'idi attire, after she appeared in a video voicing her vote in the elections wearing a Sa'idi galabeya and holding a stick as men do.
The complaint stated that on November 25th, the video was published where Sama El-Masry wore the Sa'idi galabeya, which the complaint considered as imitation of men, prohibited by Islam. Additionally, she was accused of misusing social media platforms and publishing videos that contradict public morals.
The public prosecutor was requested to close Sama El-Masry’s social media accounts and to take the necessary legal action against her for bullying and mocking the Sa'idi attire and imitating men, in order to ensure respect for community norms and values.
