Khaberni - FIFA's decision regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's red card suggests that the Portuguese star will not miss the start of his national team's journey in the 2026 World Cup.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, for just one match, which means he will be ready to participate with the team in their first match of the 2026 World Cup.

Ronaldo was sent off in the match between Portugal and Ireland in the penultimate round of the World Cup qualifiers, causing him to miss the match against Armenia, which saw coach Roberto Martinez's team secure their spot in the finals.

There were doubts about Ronaldo being suspended for two or three matches, but the Disciplinary Committee settled on a one-match suspension with a probation for two matches, given the former Saudi victory captain's record in the international match.

Ronaldo's dismissal was his first in 266 matches with Portugal, and the probation for the other two matches will depend on the behavior of the 40-year-old player.
