Khaberni - Florentino Perez, President of Real Madrid, launched a barrage of sharp and direct criticisms aimed at Javier Tebas, the President of the Spanish League, and FC Barcelona in the context of payments made by the latter to the former Vice President of Referees.
Perez confirmed in his speech at the general assembly of the club that "the level of Spanish officiating is not normal," pointing out that it is "not normal for football in Spain to be governed by those who only seek to protect their privileges."
He accused the president of "La Liga" of "distorting the league" and practicing "authoritarian behavior."
Perez strongly criticized Tebas' attempt to hold an official match in Miami, describing it as "a failure" and "an attempt to impose his will."
Perez also questioned Tebas' motivations, pointing out that he "increased his salary tenfold" at the expense of funds needed by the clubs, asserting that such actions could not occur in any other European league.
"Barcelona scandal": Negreira payments
Perez dedicated a large part of his speech to the "scandal" of payments amounting to more than 8 million euros made by Barcelona to the former Vice President of the Technical Committee of Referees, Enriquez Negreira, over 17 years.
The president of Real Madrid emphasized that this matter "is not normal," pointing out that "four presidents maintained these payments in millions for 17 years."
He noted that the period during which the payments were made remarkably coincided with the best results Barcelona achieved in the country, which he considered an "unnatural" matter that requires accountability, refusing to close the chapter on that "scandal" and affirming that this coincidence constitutes "a disgrace."
He concluded by asking: "Who will forget the Negreira case?", emphasizing that Real Madrid is the only club represented in the case and demanded the "necessary responsibilities be taken."
