Khaberni - Jordanian novelist Du'aa Al-Baik launched her new novel titled "Between Two Octobers" at the headquarters of the National Library in Amman.
The social novel, published by "Jafra Publishers and Distributors," was signed at a ceremony attended by a select group of intellectuals and culture enthusiasts.
The event was hosted by poet Lo'ay Shdifat, and included a critical reading by fellow writer and researcher Ali Saadeh, with a creative reading presented by writer and publisher Morad Sarah.
With the launch of her new novel, Al-Baik now has four novels to her credit: "Women from Crumbs," "Mothers from Ashes (Psycho)," "I Don't Know," and the most recently signed "Between Two Octobers."
Al-Baik's publications focus on psychological social drama that elucidates psychological problems and their relationship with the environment and circumstances surrounding individuals.
"Between Two Octobers" interweaves events involving diverse characters from Gaza City and Amman, shedding light on the recent Gaza war, offering multiple opinions and perspectives, and also discussing various psychological issues and disorders, with some events taking place inside a mental health clinic. The novel comprises 296 pages.
Du'aa Al-Baik is a Jordanian writer and novelist with a nursing diploma, a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and an advanced diploma in Psychological Counseling and Family Support for families with disabilities. Al-Baik has worked in education with diverse age groups and backgrounds, and has contributed to programs integrating people with special needs, an experience that was foundational in launching her subsequent social project. She also has multiple professional experiences in sales and relationship management, enhancing her communication skills and trust-building abilities.
Besides her community work through the "Khaberni" project aimed at empowering adolescents with disabilities.
