Khaberni - Member of the Doctors' Syndicate Council, Tariq al-Khatib, said on Saturday that the syndicate faces a financial deficit in its fund amounting to 45 million dinars in both Amman and Jerusalem.
Al-Khatib added that the syndicate resorted to the Social Security Corporation during the last council to conduct an actuarial study to determine the necessary measures to stop the financial deficit.
He pointed out that the syndicate provides retirement salaries for about 6,600 beneficiaries among retired doctors and their heirs in both Amman and Jerusalem, according to the kingdom.
Al-Khatib explained that the fund's monthly requirements for disbursing salaries are estimated at 1.3 million dinars, while monthly revenues range from 400 to 700 thousand dinars, leading to a monthly deficit ranging between 500 and 600 thousand dinars.
He noted that the Doctors' Syndicate finds it difficult to disburse full salaries to doctors, and the current solution is limited to disbursing half the salary with some exceptions.
