Khaberni - The qualifiers for five-a-side football are currently resuming in the city of Aqaba, in preparation for participation in the golden square of the twenty-second edition of the Leader's Birthday Sports Tournament. This prestigious tournament is organized by the Directorate of Teachers' Clubs at the Ministry of Education and attracts wide participation involving 15 teams representing 14 teacher clubs, in addition to a special team from the Ministry of Education.
This diligent preparation comes in readiness for the official launch of the main tournament in January 2026. These qualifiers were preceded by an extensive coordination meeting that brought together the director of the Directorate of Teachers' Clubs, Mr. Ibrahim Asab, with representatives of the referees committee, club directors, and technical and administrative staff. During this meeting, there was unanimous agreement on full compliance with the ministry's directives, which emphasized that the ultimate goal of this event goes beyond sports competition, focusing instead on fostering brotherly meetings, instilling the values of fair sportsmanship, and deepening professional and human relationships among colleagues in an atmosphere of mutual love and respect.
The importance of the Leader's Birthday Sports Tournament lies in the fact that it is not merely a sporting event, but a multi-dimensional event that achieves educational, social, and lofty national objectives.
The tournament provides a unique platform for bringing together teachers and administrative staff from various clubs and directorates, which strengthens bonds of love and fellowship and enhances positive communication among them, away from the daily routine. By focusing on sportsmanship, fair play, and mutual respect, the tournament contributes to instilling these noble values, which are a fundamental part of the mission of education and teaching, not just in the participants but in the society as a whole.
The tournament is implemented in accordance with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, who sees sports as a driver for human development and an achievement that contributes to building a well-rounded human character. This approach is consistent with the strategic goals of the Ministry of Education and the Directorate of Teachers' Clubs in making sports an integral part of employees' lives.
With these comprehensive dimensions, the "Leader's Birthday Sports Tournament" transcends being a mere sports competition to become a living model of brotherly convergence and the enhancement of human and national values.
