Khaberni - A new poll reveals that teenagers prefer talking to chatbots over humans because they find them faster, more enjoyable, and easier to converse with.
According to the British newspaper "The Independent", the poll, conducted by YouGov, included 5035 teenagers in England aged between 11 and 18.
More than three-quarters of those surveyed said that they spend most of their free time in front of screens, with nearly half (48 percent) spending most of their free time in their bedrooms.
About 4 in 10 participants reported that they have used artificial intelligence for advice, support, or companionship, and that they prefer talking to it over speaking to humans.
The main reason behind this was that participants felt it was faster (51 percent), while other reasons given were that it is enjoyable (35 percent) and easier than talking to a real person (19 percent).
About 9 percent said they used artificial intelligence because they felt like talking to an adult, while 6 percent said they had no one else to talk to, and another 6 percent said they trust artificial intelligence more than humans.
Experts overseeing the survey warned that although artificial intelligence will increasingly become part of society, it should not come at the expense of "rich human interaction".
They added: "While artificial intelligence may provide support, it cannot replace the empathy and understanding that come from real personal support."
