Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Thursday, met with representatives of leading Vietnamese companies in the textile sector and representatives from the textile sector in Jordan.
The features of investment partnerships were reviewed, and opportunities to establish integrated industrial partnerships in the textile sector between private sector institutions in both countries were discussed.
His Majesty the King emphasized during the meeting, held in the capital Hanoi, Jordan's commitment to strengthening economic and trade relations with Vietnam.
His Majesty pointed out the importance of the Vietnamese experience in attracting investments and developing local industries, especially in the textile sector.
His Majesty the King, during the meeting held in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation, highlighted the opportunities for Vietnamese companies to benefit from investment advantages in the Kingdom, especially in the special industrial zones dedicated to the textile sector to expand the reach of their products to new markets.
The Regional Director for the Middle East, Pakistan, and Afghanistan at the International Finance Corporation, Khawaja Aftab Ahmed, noted the importance of the industrial sector in providing new job opportunities.
He added that the meeting "builds on the ongoing advisory efforts of the institution to support the textile sector and expand employment opportunities for Jordanians, attract new investments, and enhance trade in line with Jordan's economic modernization vision."
In turn, the director of the Vietnamese Textile Association, Vu Duc Giang, expressed his aspiration to make a working visit to Jordan to explore opportunities for diversification in markets, products, and brands, and joint investment, in line with the trade strategies of Vietnam and Jordan.
According to official figures, Jordan's textile exports in 2024 amounted to about $2.4 billion, most of it to the United States.
The meeting was attended by the director of His Majesty the King’s Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supplies, Engineer Ya'rub Qudah, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Singapore, Sa'ed Radaideh.
