Khaberni - The game "Paddle" has recently seen a significant spread in Jordan, evolving from a new sport in the Jordanian society to a youth phenomenon that enjoys broad popularity in major cities like Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba.
Paddle is a mix between tennis and squash, played in a court surrounded by glass walls, which adds a dynamic and interactive element different from other similar sports. It is usually played in doubles teams (2 vs 2), making it a social sport cherished among friends and families.
With the increase in the number of dedicated courts and the opening of specialized training centers, Paddle has started to attract various segments of society, especially youth and women. Local tournaments and training courses are now being organized in several sports clubs and shopping centers.
Experts attribute this spread to the ease of learning the game and its competitive fun, in addition to the nature of the enclosed court that allows playing in various seasons. Social media platforms have also contributed to its promotion, through sharing videos from inside the courts by players and influencers.
It is expected that this sport will continue to grow locally, especially with a number of investors moving towards establishing Paddle courts within new entertainment and sports projects in Jordan.
