Khaberni - The Jerash Public Works Directorate announced, on Monday, a partial closure of the road connecting the northern entrance of the ruins and the Al-Qayrawan roundabout towards the launch complex, as well as the road from the military establishment signal towards the governorate building, from 7 PM until 7 AM.
The director of Jerash public works, Ikhlas Al-Khashashneh, explained that the partial closure is to complete the asphalt mixing work within the framework of the road rehabilitation and maintenance project stretching from the visitors' center to the Al-Qayrawan roundabout, covering 1100 meters, and from the military establishment towards the governorate building, covering 400 meters.
Al-Khashashneh added that the closure is coordinated with the administrative governorship of the province, the Jerash traffic department, and the relevant authorities, noting that the value of the bid allocated for these works amounts to 209,000 Jordanian Dinar, and it is a central bid.
She pointed out that the bid includes the separation of the road from the Al-Qayrawan roundabout towards the north entrance of the archeological site, with the implementation of a central island, installation of traffic signs, and public safety features, in addition to road planning in accordance with modern traffic standards.
