Khaberni - Acting Director of Vocational Education Ibrahim Al-Ramadneh said that next year, 3 new specialties will be introduced in vocational education, namely aviation engineering, gaming, electronic sports and early childhood specialization.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Education has started working on the vocational and technical education transformation project from the year 2023-2024, stemming from the vision of economic modernization.
He explained that the vocational education system is now studied over 3 years due to students' need for a longer duration in vocational and technical education.
Al-Ramadneh emphasized that the ministry has gradually started introducing quality specialties in line with labor market needs in the vocational and technical education system, totaling 12 specialties.
He continued, "The number of schools offering vocational and technical education programs has reached 331 schools across the kingdom."
On his part, Director of the Queen Rania Abdullah Center for Educational Technology Munib Tashman stated that digital transformation has become an urgent necessity for the student and the teacher and the development of the educational journey.
Tashman explained during the Government Communication Forum, on Tuesday, that "Siraj," the teaching assistant, helps in reducing the burden of preparing syllabi for teachers, noting that all curricula have been digitized and added to the application.
Tashman also pointed out that digital curricula are one of the national artificial intelligence strategy projects, where digital skills are taught from the seventh grade to the twelfth grade.
He highlighted that a special cybersecurity department was established in the Ministry of Education, monitoring all school networks for protection from hacking, and that more than 8000 teachers and laboratory supervisors have been trained in building digital capacities for teachers.
The Ministry of Education had launched the educational smart assistant "Siraj," a trial initiative of the National Future Technology Council, which is an educational tool powered by artificial intelligence.
The launch of "Siraj" is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, to use artificial intelligence in education, and to harness technology to serve the citizens.
In turn, the Secretary-General of the Government Communication Ministry, Zaid Al-Nawaiseh, stated that the Ministry of Education's efforts continue in developing the educational environment and improving the quality of the educational process.
Al-Nawaiseh noted that the Ministry of Education continues to expand in constructing modern school buildings to provide a safe and stimulating educational environment for students, and the ministry is continuing to build a comprehensive digital system that enhances the quality of education and service speed.
