Khaberni - The football association sent the preliminary list for the national football team to the organizing committee of the 2025 Arab Cup, which Qatar will host from the first to the eighteenth of December of next year, and the list includes 45 players before it will be narrowed down to 23 players, before the twentieth of this month.
FIFA had officially requested from the participating federations in the tournament the necessity to send the teams' lists before the end of the last day of the past month, indicating the deadline for submitting the final lists by the 20th of this month, according to Al-Ghad newspaper.
The sent list includes the players chosen by the Moroccan technical director Jamal Salami in the last gathering, which saw the friendly matches against the Bolivian and Albanian teams, in addition to a number of players who proved their presence in the professional league competitions and some players from the Olympic team. The last list for the team included 30 players: Yazeed Abu Layla, Noor Bani Atiya, Malik Shelbayah, Abdullah Naseeb, Yazan Al-Arab, Yusuf Abu Al-Jazar, Mohammad Abu Al-Nadi, Hadi Al-Hourani, Saleem Obeid, Saad Al-Rosan, Muhannad Abu Taha, Mohammad Abu Hashish, Ali Hajabi, Adham Al-Quraishi, Essam Al-Sameeri, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Ibrahim Saada, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Amer Jamous, Ahmad Al-Salman, Musa Al-Taamari, Mahmoud Mardhi, Ali Alwan, Ali Azayzeh, Mohammad Abu Zureiq, Ouda Fakhouri, Abdullah Awad, Rizq Bani Hani, Ibrahim Sabra, and Yazan Al-Naemat.
The technical staff of Al-Nashama rely on the next two friendly matches against the Tunisian and Malian teams on the fourteenth and eighteenth of this month, in reaching the best list representing Al-Nashama in the tournament, especially since the final list will be submitted just two days after the match against the Malian team.
Al-Nashama will continue their preparations after the end of the international break on the eighteenth of this month, and there are attempts to secure a friendly match before traveling to the Qatari capital Doha four days before the first match against the UAE team on the third of next month, as Salami is expected to announce the team list in the coming days.
Al-Nashama starts their gathering this coming Saturday through an internal camp in one of the capital's hotels, lasting five days with the participation of local players, in addition to a number of professionals abroad, waiting to complete the ranks with the entry of the international break period, before departing to Tunisia on the twelfth of this month, to hold a training camp that includes a friendly meeting with the Tunisian team at six o'clock in the evening of the fourteenth of the same month at Hamadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades, as well as a second friendly experience with the Malian team on the eighteenth of the same month, for Al-Nashama's squad to return to Amman to continue preparations and preparations with the local players and the available professionals.
And Al-Nashama plays in Group Three, alongside the UAE, Egypt, and the winner of the qualifying match between Kuwait and Mauritania, where the team starts its journey in the tournament with a match against the UAE team on the third of December next, and will then meet the winner of the qualifying match between Kuwait and Mauritania on the sixth of the same month, while it concludes the group stage matches with a match against the Egyptian team on the ninth of the same month.
The monetary prizes of the tournament form an additional incentive for the participating teams in choosing the best available players, after the organizing committee determined the value of the prizes allocated for the tournament at more than 36.5 million US dollars (132.9 million Qatari Riyals). Most teams will participate with their first team, including the Saudi team which announced yesterday its participation with the team qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
