Khaberni - The Committee on Arab and International Affairs and Expatriates in the Senate, chaired by Senator Hani Al-Mulki, met on Sunday with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi.

Al-Mulki emphasized the effectiveness of Jordanian foreign policy led by His Majesty King Abdullah II in maintaining Jordan’s security, stability, and national interests, highlighting His Majesty's efforts to promote security and stability in the region, and his positions on various regional and international developments, especially the Palestinian issue.

Safadi reviewed the efforts of Jordanian diplomacy, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, regarding Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian issue, and developments in the region.

He affirmed Jordan's steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian brothers in attaining their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Safadi also reaffirmed Jordan's position calling for the necessity of adhering to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, fully implementing its terms, ensuring the sufficient and immediate entry of humanitarian aid to the sector, and progressing within a comprehensive vision that guarantees security, stability, and reconstruction in Gaza and finding a real political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

He pointed to the necessity of stopping the dangerous escalation and unilateral Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and reaffirmed Jordan's continued role in protecting the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stemming from the Hashemite historical custodianship over them.

Safadi also discussed the latest developments in Syria and renewed the Kingdom's support for the Syrian government's efforts in rebuilding on foundations that ensure Syria's unity, sovereignty, stability, security, territorial integrity, and the welfare of its citizens.
