Khaberni - The tourism director in the Petra region authority, Imad Al-Hilalat, said on Saturday, that the number of visitors to Petra city reached only 595 during the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
Al-Hilalat explained that most of the visitors were tourists residing in Jordan, with their number reaching about 325 on Friday.
He expected an improvement in the number of visitors during the second day of Eid, noting that 300 visitors had been recorded until 11:00 AM.
He pointed out that Petra is experiencing better tourist movement than during Ramadan, but the movement is very weak compared to previous seasons.
