Khaberni - The Minister of Government Communication, spokesman for the government, Mohammad Al-Momani, announced that the Cabinet has approved a package of financial facilitations including new discounts and incentives on the tax for buildings and lands (roofed properties), the knowledge tax, and the sewage contribution fees within the municipal and Greater Amman Secretary borders.
Al-Momani, during a press conference held on Wednesday on the sidelines of a Cabinet session, said that the decision grants a 20% discount on the taxes and fees due for the current year and previous years if all dues are paid before the end of December 31, 2025.
He explained that the government has decided to allow the installment of tax on buildings and lands (roofed properties) and the knowledge tax, as well as sewage contribution fees accruing on taxpayers until the end of 2025, to facilitate them and encourage compliance with payment.
Al-Momani also mentioned that the decision includes granting the same discount to taxpayers who have paid their due taxes since the beginning of the year until the date of the decision, to be recorded for them at the beginning of 2026, in addition to the promotional discount stipulated by the law.
He added that the government has decided to increase the promotional discount rate for taxpayers compliant with the building and land tax for 2026 to become 10% instead of 8%, if the amounts due are paid within the first two months of the upcoming year.
Al-Momani confirmed that the decisions aim to motivate citizens to settle their financial obligations and to enhance public revenues in fair ways that consider the economic circumstances of taxpayers.
