Trump sets a condition for meeting Putin

Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he does not intend to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin until he believes that a peace agreement with Ukraine will be reached.

Trump added to reporters in Doha: "You must know that we will make an agreement, I will not waste my time."

On Wednesday, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Putin, announcing "substantial" sanctions on the Russian oil sector, hoping to finally persuade Moscow to stop its war on Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump said last night, Tuesday, that he wants to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin only when a productive summit can be expected.

After refraining for months from deciding to impose sanctions on Russia, Trump found his talks with Putin "fruitless."

After Trump indefinitely postponed a summit that had been scheduled with Putin in Budapest, he said, "Every time I talk to Vladimir, I have good conversations but they ultimately remain fruitless" as they lead to no breakthrough.
