Advisor to the Rapid Support commander and his entourage
It also confirmed the death of the Rapid Support Commander's Advisor for Security Affairs in Darfur Region, Hamed Ali Abu Bakr, and 5 of his companions in the raid that was executed.
The strike was carried out by a drone targeting a meeting of field leaders near the city of Zalingei.
Hamed Ali Abu Bakr is known as the leader of the Revolutionary Awakening Council's Decisive Sword group by the Rapid Support.
He is also the Advisor to the Rapid Support Commander for Security Affairs in Darfur Region.
This strike came while tensions in Darfur continue to dominate, where the Sudanese army coalition government was accused of targeting the Al-Firdous village in Central Darfur with a drone.
It said the attack resulted in the death of 35 civilians.
Thousands of dead and 12 million displaced
It is noteworthy that the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces erupted on April 15, 2023, starting with skirmishes around the presidential palace and Khartoum International Airport, and then spread to other provinces such as Darfur and Northern State.
So far, international and regional mediations have not succeeded in ending this deadly conflict, which left thousands dead, displaced 12 million, and plunged the country into the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, according to the United Nations.
