Khaberni - The Iraqi Ministry of Communications announced the ban on the Roblox game inside Iraq, under a decision from the Supreme Federal Court.
According to a statement issued by the ministry a few days ago, "Out of concern for protecting community security and safeguarding the moral and educational values of families and children, and ensuring the safety of internet service users in Iraq, the ministry announces a ban on the Roblox game within the country based on decisions from the Supreme Federal Court."
The statement added: "This decision comes after an extensive study and field monitoring which revealed that the game includes a number of security, social, and behavioral risks including the facilitation of direct communication between users in a manner that exposes children and teenagers to attempts of exploitation or electronic extortion, containing some game contents that are contrary to community values and traditions, spreading false links and unofficial platforms claiming to offer in-game rewards, and their use in stealing personal data and information and encouraging users on frequent in-game purchases that impose financial burdens on Iraqi families, in addition to increasing cases of digital addiction and social isolation among young users as a result of excessive game usage."
The ministry emphasized in its statement the "continuation of its monitoring and tracking of applications and electronic games that may touch upon moral values or threaten the safety of users, in coordination with relevant authorities."
