Khaberni - During the Russian air raid on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, German Economy Minister Katarina Reiche was forced to enter one of the shelters overnight.

At a press conference, the minister, who belongs to the party of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the Christian Democrat, said that the experience was painful for her and expressed her sorrow that this painful experience has become "the sad daily life of Ukrainians".

Reiche added: "It became very clear to me during that night once again that Russia's attacks on the Ukrainian people are aimed at exhausting them."

Reiche arrived in Ukraine yesterday, Friday, accompanied by an economic delegation on a visit that will last several days. The German minister said that attacks targeting electricity and heating networks ahead of the winter season pose a significant risk, and promised the war-torn country assistance in rebuilding the war-damaged energy infrastructure, pointing out that her country will not abandon Ukrainians.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia used along with dozens of drones, 9 ballistic missiles during the nighttime attack.

He added that "the enemy" has launched since the beginning of the year nearly 770 ballistic missiles and more than 50 cruise missiles at Ukrainian territory. Ballistic missiles differ from cruise missiles in that the former are only accelerated during launch and then follow a curved path towards the target, while cruise missiles have internal engines that allow them to fly at low altitudes for long periods.
