Khaberni - In Konshi village in the Indian state of Bihar, a bizarre and emotional event occurred when Mohan Lal, a 74-year-old former air force soldier, decided to test how much the villagers cared about him by organizing a fake funeral for himself.
The villagers were shocked by Mohan's sudden death, and hundreds of them participated in the funeral procession, performing traditional rituals and expressing their sorrow for his passing, even though most people were not previously aware of his death.
But the biggest shock came when Mohan suddenly rose from his coffin, revealing that everything had been a carefully planned scenario by him to find out the affection and respect people had for him.
In a comment, Mohan said, "After death, people carry the coffin, but I wanted to witness it myself and know the extent of respect and affection people have for me."
Mohan asked some of his relatives to help spread the news of his death, and others to arrange and decorate the coffin to make the funeral look realistic, which led hundreds to participate in the mourning ceremonies, making him happy and giving him peace of mind about his status in the community.
To erase any resentment from this act, Mohan Lal organized a big feast for all the village residents, thus concluding his innovative idea in a friendly and respectful manner.
