Khaberni - The Palestinian Ministry of Education stated on Tuesday that 20,058 students were martyred and 31,139 were wounded since the Israeli aggression began on October 7, 2023, in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
The Ministry clarified in a statement that the number of students martyred in Gaza since the beginning of the aggression reached more than 19,910, those wounded amounted to 30,097, while in the West Bank, 148 students were martyred and 1,042 were wounded, in addition to 846 being arrested.
It also noted that 1,037 teachers and administrators were martyred and 4,740 were injured in Gaza and the West Bank, and more than 228 were arrested in the West Bank.
The Ministry pointed out that 179 governmental schools were completely destroyed in Gaza, in addition to 63 university buildings. Additionally, 118 governmental schools and more than 100 schools run by the UNRWA were bombed and vandalized, while the occupation's aggression resulted in the total removal of 30 schools along with their students and teachers from the educational record. In the West Bank, the occupation destroyed Umaira Elementary School in Yatta south of Hebron, and Al-Aqaba Elementary School in Tubas, and 8 universities and colleges were subjected to repeated invasions and vandalism.
