Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II held two separate meetings in Slovenia on Monday with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the sidelines of the Southern European Countries Summit "MED 9", attended by His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.
His Majesty emphasized the importance of ensuring compliance with the agreement to end the war in Gaza, and of intensifying efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to all areas of the sector.
His Majesty warned of the danger of continuing unilateral actions against Palestinians in the West Bank, and plans to expand settlements and annex territories.
During his meeting with the President of the European Commission, His Majesty mentioned the importance of sustaining coordination with the European Union regarding developments in the region, in a way that serves common interests and achieves security and stability.
The meeting discussed ways to expand cooperation between Jordan and the European Union in various fields, especially in establishing major joint projects.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece, His Majesty affirmed Jordan's ongoing religious and historical role in safeguarding the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, starting from the Hashemite custodianship over them.
