The First Directorate of Education in Zarqa Receives 4 New Schools in 2026

Khaberni - Ayoub Al-Mashaqbah, the Director of Education for the First Zarqa Area, stated that the directorate will receive 4 new schools at the beginning of 2026, to alleviate the pressure on the schools that operate in two shifts, currently numbering 34 schools.

Al-Mashaqbah added, on Sunday, that the directorate hosts 17 vocational schools accommodating 3,502 students, in alignment with the Royal Vision for the development of vocational and technical education (BTEC) which contributes to preparing qualified cadres capable of meeting the labor market needs, and providing job opportunities for graduates in the local and regional markets.

He confirmed that the directorate has 8,051 twelfth-grade students in its schools, reflecting the size of the administrative and organizational efforts made in managing the examination process and providing an appropriate educational environment that ensures the efficient and disciplined conduct of examinations.

He pointed out that the directorate accommodates about 94,500 students, distributed across 149 government schools, noting that there are 34 rented schools.

Al-Mashaqbah added that this large number of students reflects the magnitude of the challenges faced by the directorate in providing a suitable educational environment, affirming the ongoing efforts to develop the school infrastructure, expand existing buildings, and introduce new schools to reduce overcrowding and improve the quality of education, in accordance with the plans and priorities of the Ministry of Education.

He explained that the directorate opens the doors of all its schools to students with disabilities, currently hosting 1,475 students, with specialized integration teams provided in 4 central schools. This ensures the provision of appropriate educational and pedagogical care, and a supportive school environment that meets their needs and contributes to their effective integration in the educational process.

Al-Mashaqbah mentioned that in the field of preschools, the directorate had opened 152 classroom sections that welcomed 3,622 students, which confirms the directorate's focus on the foundational educational stage as a top priority, due to its pivotal role in building basic skills for students and enhancing their readiness for subsequent educational stages.

Regarding the education of Syrian students, Al-Mashaqbah confirmed that the directorate continues to provide its educational services to 2,540 Syrian students, through 9 evening centers operating with high efficiency, ensuring the right to education for all, and reflecting the directorate's commitment to providing fair educational opportunities in accordance with international standards.
