Barcelona took the lead in the 13th minute when Pedri received a pass from Lamine Yamal inside the penalty area and shot with his left foot into the net.
However, Axel Witsel’s stunning goal from a bicycle kick restored Girona to the match just seven minutes later, capitalizing on a header from Arnau Martinez near the six-yard box.
The hosts pressed hard to regain their lead, making five attempts on goal in the first half hour of the second half.
Their efforts finally paid off when substitute Araujo scored in stoppage time.
Barça increased their points to 22 at the top of the league, waiting for Real Madrid to play tomorrow against their neighbor Getafe.
