Khaberni - Real Madrid's coach Alvaro Arbeloa believes that the referee overlooked a penalty for his team in the match against Girona (1-1) that took place at the opening of the 31st round of the Spanish football league.
French striker of Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe, collided with Brazilian defender Vitor Reis of Girona, leading to his fall on the ground in the 87th minute of the match at "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium. The field referee Alberola Rojas indicated to continue playing without calling any foul, and the video assistant referee (VAR) did not intervene to review the incident, despite vehement protests from Real Madrid players and fans.
Arbeloa told reporters about the referee's decision not to award a penalty: "For me, the foul against Mbappe is a clear penalty, it would be called here and even on the surface of the moon, again and another week we face the same issues".
He added: "I don't understand what happened and nobody does, you know my opinion, the situation is completely clear, we have faced a lot with referees, today and in Mallorca".
Regarding the course of the match, Arbeloa said: "It was not our best match, we should have won, we deployed a strong lineup to win and created many unexploited opportunities".
Alvaro Arbeloa rejected considering the Spanish league a losing championship, emphasizing: "We will lose the league when we actually lose the league, we will continue to fight and defend our badge until the last day".
